FAQ and Policies

Hypoallergenic Policy

Hypoallergenic jewelry is typically free of common allergens such as nickel, lead, and cadmium, which can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people. Some people may also be allergic to gold or silver, and in such cases, hypoallergenic jewelry may be made with alternative materials that are less likely to cause a reaction.

Permanent Jewelry / Bonded Bracelets

We offer custom-made, bonded bracelets that are designed to stay securely in place and provide a comfortable, clasp-free wearing experience. We understand that there are other types of jewelry on the market that are marketed as 'permanent' or 'never-coming-off,' but we want to clarify that our bonded bracelets are not advertised as such.

While we take great care in designing and crafting our jewelry to be as durable and long-lasting as possible, we understand that nothing in this world is truly permanent or guaranteed to last forever. We believe in being honest and transparent with our customers about what they can expect from our products, and we want to assure you that we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our bonded bracelets.

Our custom-made, bonded bracelets are a unique product that offers a comfortable, secure wearing experience that cannot be compared to other types of jewelry. We work closely with each of our customers to ensure that their bracelet is tailored to their unique preferences and fits perfectly.

If you have any questions or concerns about our products, please don't hesitate to contact us. We value your feedback and are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and satisfaction possible.

Gold and Silver Disclaimer

At Linked In the City, we are committed to using only the highest quality 14k gold filled  and 925 sterling silver materials in our jewelry designs. Chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and other factors can potentially cause the gold fill to discolor or develop imperfections. While we do everything we can to ensure that our jewelry is durable and long-lasting, we cannot control the conditions in which it is worn or stored. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that our jewelry will not tarnish over time, as the wearing and care of each piece is dependent on the individual's lifestyle and environment.

We recommend that our customers take proper care of their jewelry, such as avoiding contact with harsh chemicals. We also suggest that our customers periodically clean their jewelry using a soft cloth or a gentle jewelry cleaner to help maintain its shine and beauty.

Please understand that while we stand behind the quality of our materials and craftsmanship, we cannot be held responsible for normal wear and tear or damage caused by improper care or use of our products. Thank you for choosing Linked In The City, and we hope that you enjoy your beautiful, handcrafted jewelry for years to come.

WE DO NOT USE PLATED JEWELRY

Gold Filled jewelry is made by bonding a thick layer of gold (usually 5-10% of the total weight) to a base metal core (usually brass or copper) using heat and pressure. The gold layer in gold filled jewelry is much thicker than in gold plated jewelry, typically around 50 to 100 times thicker, and is considered to be more durable and longer-lasting. Gold filled jewelry is also more resistant to tarnishing and discoloration than gold plated jewelry.

In summary, the key differences between gold plated and gold filled jewelry are the thickness of the gold layer and the method of bonding it to the base metal. Gold filled jewelry is generally considered to be of higher quality and more durable than gold plated jewelry, and it is also more expensive.

Refund & Repair Policy

We take pride in creating high-quality, handcrafted jewelry that is designed to last. We offer a repair policy for our customers, which includes one free repair for any non-bonded site, as well as a $7 rebond fee for subsequent repairs after the first one. Please note that repairs are subject to approval by our team and we reserve the right to decline a repair request if we determine that the damage is beyond repair.

In addition, please be aware that we cannot offer refunds for jewelry that has been lost or irreparably damaged due to tension or snagging. While we do our best to create jewelry that is durable and long-lasting, certain types of damage may be unavoidable due to the nature of the materials and the way that jewelry is worn.

However, we are always happy to repair any damage to the bonding site of our jewelry, and this service is always free of charge. We encourage our customers to take proper care of their jewelry, such as avoiding exposure to harsh chemicals, tugging and pulling of the wrist. To initiate a repair request, please contact us with a description of the issue and photos of the damaged area. We will provide instructions on how to set your appointment for repair, and we will do our best to complete the repair in a timely manner.
